Supplier Heroes -the little guys behind Little Jimmy

At Little Jimmy we have made it a supporting the little guy by using only 100% New Zealand only products sourced from smaller kiwi businesses trying to make their mark. These are large, publicly listed companies, just some top quality little guys who produce some fantastic stuff. Below is just a small sample of some of our suppliers.

Clevedon Valley Buffalo Company

We get our buffalo mozzarella from these guys, based out in Clevedon. At a farm unlike any other in New Zealand, they have 200 head of buffalo from which they get their porcelain white milk to make a variety of cheeses and small goods. A first for NZ, the companies buffalo dairy has won multiple awards and gold medals at New Zealand’s national cheese and artisan awards.

Six Barrel Soda

Established in 2012 , these two kiwi guys from Wellington are fast becoming the go-to syrups and bottled sodas for New Zealand and Australia. What’s great are that the flavours are natural, creative as well as seasonal. What’s more is that they are made and bottled by hand. With no preservatives and natural ingredients, what more could you expect from a top kiwi small batch producer.

Massimo’s Italian Cheeses

Our Burrata comes from Massimo’s, a company born by Massimo himself in 2010. Seeing a gap in the market, Massimo set up in Dairy Flat in Auckland and produces a wide array of excellent Italian cheeses and has won a Gold Medal for the Burrata we use, in 2015.

Hallertau

This family run, boutique operation is testament to exceptional craft beer brewing. Created in 2005, Hallertau has become well known for their own local brewing style taking interpretation from the best of the international styles and flavours in their own unique, organic and fresh way. Located in Riverhead, Auckland, they have an amazing range of beer of which we have a few here at Little Jimmy.

Prophets Rock

Taken from a local landmark in Central Otago, Prophets Rock produce Pinot Noir, Riesling and Pinot Gris. Using traditional methods, they harvest by hand, placing a huge amount of effort and care in to the production of their wines. It’s great to see some of these time honoured techniques still being used. It makes it that much more satisfying when drinking it!
